Invitation Letter
Dear Student,
Warmest congratulations!
You have excelled in the preliminary round of the 2025 Cambridge Economics and Finance Competition (CEFC), standing out among over 1,000 candidates from nearly 20 countries. We are delighted to officially invite you to the Global Round, to be held at Cambridge—one of the world’s most historic and intellectually vibrant academic institutions.
Jointly organized by the Cambridge University Financial and Investment Society (CUFIS) and the Cambridge Student Investment Fund (CamSIF)—both officially recognized as the largest finance-focused student society at Cambridge—CEFC is dedicated to nurturing exceptional young minds with a passion for economics and finance. The Global Round is scheduled to take place at Cambridge, from October 1st to 6th, 2025. With only 60 places available worldwide, participation in the Finals is not only a mark of distinction but also a unique opportunity for both academic and personal growth.
Economics and finance is a dynamic interdisciplinary field that explores how economic systems operate and how financial decisions shape the world around us. During the Global Round, you will engage in a series of academic challenges—from individual economics challenges to team-based stock pitch competitions. You will work with real-world data, develop strategic solutions, and deliver final presentations as a team. Throughout the week, you will also gain insights from Cambridge faculty at the forefront of research in economics, and receive guidance from Cambridge alumni, industry professionals with global experience, and members of CUFIS and CamSIF.
Beyond academics, the Global Round offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in Cambridge’s rich traditions. From experiencing aspects of the Cambridge student life such as punting to gaining firsthand insights into the Cambridge Economics application process, the experience will offer a true taste of life at one of the world’s most prestigious universities. You will also connect with like-minded peers from around the world and build lasting international friendships.
All awards and outstanding presentations will be published on the official CEFC website, ensuring your achievements receive global recognition.
This is more than an honor—it is a rare opportunity to broaden your perspective, test your potential, and take a confident step toward your future. We look forward to welcoming you to Cambridge and witnessing your brilliance on the world stage.
With our best regards,
